The J4K tenor trombone was developed based on the popular J4 when we were asked to provide a more ‘German’ sound. To meet our customers’ wishes, we experimented with various designs for the tuning slide and neckpipe and crafted a somewhat lighter gold brass bell with a nickel silver rim. The result is the best of both worlds, a blend of American-style comfortable playability and a dark, symphonic tone characteristic of German trombones, with the same excellent intonation characteristics our customers are used to.
